Hello,
My name is Dan Libertino, guitarist and owner of Libertino Music. I have
been playing the guitar since the mid-seventies, entering college in 1979
to formally study music and the guitar. I studied the classical guitar
with the world renown Romero family during my undergraduate studies at
UCSD where I completed my tenure with a BA in Music. I continued on to
receive a Masters in Music in classical guitar performance at SDSU, all
the while continuing as pupil of the Romeros.
I have been performing in the Southern California area for over two decades,
playing at weddings, receptions, private parties, corporate events, hotels,
churches and restaurants. I particularly enjoy weddings as the music means
so much to the couple exchanging vows. I take my role in the wedding seriously
and professionally, bringing my years of practice and diversity of styles
to help make your wedding a memorable one.
I enjoy all styles of music on the guitar. From traditional classical,
spanish and flamenco, to jazz standards, rock tunes and the newer Nouveau
Flamenco, all the genres have their place in my performances. Group options
include solo guitar, guitar and flute duos, 2 guitars with or without
percussion and/or bass.
Libertino Music operates in many areas of music including
performance, private guitar instruction and publishing, in which I have
written many song books for major artists and publishing companies. Some
of my work includes Ottmar Liebert's 2 songbooks for Hal Leonard, Phil
Keaggys 2 song books publish by MelBay and the soon to be released
Joni Mitchell Anthology by Warner Bros. I have been involved with music
production, song writing, arranging and recording for myself and others.
I am currently compiling the music for my first CD, recording the songs
in my home studio for future release date. I also teach at MiraCosta Community
College in the North County where I give instruction in a variety of guitar
classes for the music department, including Beginning Music Theory through
the Guitar, Beginning and Intermediate classical and regular guitar. I
have written a book for the Theory class with a second level of the book
currently in development.
